project 520additions and alterations
brief The client had purchased the property as an investment. The property was large and in original condition. The brief was to create an executive styled home with the intention of selling in the future. The client had a list of the changes that they wanted. These were inclusive of a more desirable façade. They hoped to create a home that read well from the street and housed all the comforts expected in a home of this size. solution In order to create a more luxurious feel the original home was added to, the facades were altered and room sizes where possible were increased. The layout was also changed to improve flow through the house. The kitchen was opened up and now relates better to both the meals and family rooms. The result is an airier more light filled space. The indoor outdoor relationship was improved and new landscaping added. The addition of the double garage to the front of the property provides secure parking for the property something that was previously missing. The master suite includes a new ensuite and storage and has direct access to a private terrace that overlooks the rear of the property. This is the third project of this type that we have completed with this client. The project was a collaborative effort with the client and builder involved at all stages to ensure costs were kept to a moderate budget. before |
